Sir George And The Dragon
By George Cooper
Once upon a time there was a mighty dragon. His wings were five times bigger than its body. The dragon was as big as a castle. He was red and orange. His tail was as long as a bus. Its scales clanged with every step it took.

He lived in a cave. He was terrifying the people, attacking the castle and stepping on houses. The people were mad.
They sent Devon the brave butcher. He traveled 20,000 miles to find Sir George. Deven asked Sir George to come to battle the dragon.

They went over rivers and through valleys. Finally they got to the mountain where the dragon was. The knight was furious. He charged at the dragon with his spear. The dragon took off into the air. He blew smoke and no one could see him. Suddenly the knight threw his spear at the dragon’s wing. The dragon fell to the ground.

The knight got up and the dragon whipped the knight. The knight cut the dragon’s head off and he was dead. You could smell his breath. The dragon was dead.

For a reward the knight got 36 barrels of gold. The knight said, "I do not want the barrels of gold. I will give them to the poor people. Instead I will marry the princess." And they lived happily ever after.
